Chicago based saxophonist Kyle Madsen is known as one of the most versatile musicians in the midwest. Throughout his career as a sideman and bandleader, he has performed with an eclectic mix of artists, performing many various styles of music. In Chicago, he has a presence in the vastly diverse music scene, performing everything from merengue, hip hop, jazz, blues, punk, jam band, funk, pop, samba, reggae, free music and more. He has performed with bands such as Chicago Afrobeat Project, Big Star, This Must Be The Band, Genome, Oro Solido, Mungion, Chicago Samba, Big Band Boom, and many others.

Throughout his career, Kyle has performed at a wide range of Chicagoland venues including The Vic Theater, Park West, The Green Mill, Double Door, Navy Pier, Buddy Guy's Legends, Martyrs', Andy's Jazz Club, Schubas, The Jazz Showcase  and more. He has performed at major regional and national festivals, including The Chicago Blues Festival, Chicago Puerto Rican Fest, Milwaukee SummerFest, Wakarusa Music Festival, SummerCamp Music Fest, and others nation-wide. In 2023, he released his first album as a leader - Kyle Madsen Trio “Celestial Beings”.
